What did you learn from perusing the Blogs of other students participating in Genius Hour/20 Time?
- I learned that they truly are passionate about these projects. These students put in a lot of time and effort into making their projects be the best. Multiple students included eye catchers, like multiple pictures of their work/progress. I learned that I should probably be a little more passionate about my topic, but unfortunately I just get bored with this. I'm glad the students find a real interest in their topics and can have fun with them.
How can you use what you have learned to impact your own Genius Hour project/ TedTalk?
- I don't really know what I could use from others projects to help benefit my own because I just am not into it like they are. It's hard to be passionate about this project because it really I doesn't affect me, I'm not benefitting from it. Yes, I am learning more and more about my project but it's nothing that I couldn't learn in another class or on the internet. I just simply have to wing it cause I don't have any past experience with a TedTalk or genius hour type of project. The only thing I can really use is my prior knowledge and show a type of comparison from what I knew and what I now know.
What progress do you still need to make towards your Genius Hour Project?
- I have a lot of progress to make towards my genius hour project. I have a bunch of research to do on like 10+ different topics. I don't even really know what I'm doing with my project to be honest. I think I've just came to the conclusion that I don't really like my topic, not that it's not interesting to me, I just think there is way to much to work off of, my brain simply cannot remember everything. I wish I would have picked a simpler topic, also something that I could include more visuals of. I feel like the other blog posts I viewed included a lot of freedom so you could say. Not that we don't have plenty of freedom with this project, but they have more around them, different things to work off and around. I mean I wish I could be taking pictures of abandoned buildings in Detroit, or painting murals like another student. We simply don't have the opportunities like other students do, but I guess I have to make do with what we have to offer here.
